Most of these songs are from the "Golden Age of Music," the 30's and 40's. It was the era that produced many of the great standards or "Evergreens," coinciding with the rise in popularity of the accordion, that music and the instrument were extremely compatible. The songs are very melodic, making possible interesting harmonic choices. The accordion, when played in an orchestral manner, utilizing the full potential of the left hand, with the blending of the reeds and smooth phrasing of the bellows, can produce sounds reminiscent of the big band sax sections. This is most noticeable on the ballads. Best example: Ralph Burns' tune, "Early Autumn."

Recorded at Lang Studios, Tacoma, Washington - Engineer: Dave Lana, July 18, 1992
