This is a new CD Release of Frank's very first cassette tape and has been digitally re-mastered. Below is the origninal cover and excerpts from the original liner notes.
Of the selections in this album, two were arranged by Russ Garcia -- the Charlie Barnet classic, Southern Fried, and and famed Duke Ellington theme, Take The "A" Train. Frank's Tune is Marocco's original composition, and he and bassist Lloyd Lunham collaborated on Lunham Bridges, the blues with the eight-bar bridge opening the second side. The swinging Tiny's Blues is from the pen of the late drummer, Tiny Kahn, and it is distinguished here by Frank's exciting use of the identifying "big band" figure with which the group takes our the number. Road To Marocco is not Frank's; it was written for him by Gorden Lofgren, who used to play bass in Frank's group some years ago.
Carrying the solo work in addition to Frank in the set are young British vibist Victor Feldman and guitar veteran Al Hendrickson. The driving ryhthm team is comprised of bassist Lloyd Lunham and drummer Milt Holland.
